Things to Know About Earth Day in Cancun

April 24, 2024

Celebrated around the world, Earth Day is on April 22 and was considered an effort to show support for environmental protection. The first Earth Day began on April 22, 1970, when the Senator from Wisconsin, Gaylord Nelson, called upon students to fight for environmental causes and oppose ecological degradation with the same energy they had displayed in opposing the Vietnam War.

Over the decades, more than 193 countries have chosen to observe the Earth Day celebration, just like those of us in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and our other fabulous destinations.
